I should have taken the out. I wouldn’t be in this mess right now. (I can’t quite figure it out, but I’ve heard it all before). I should have wrecked my car, so I wouldn’t have to sell it and break my heart. (Five hundred miles from home and we don’t know where we are) I should have made you happy (I should have made you happy). But, I know I wouldn’t satisfy (I know I make mistake, I made mistakes, we all make mistakes). I want to be better (I want to be better). But, I don’t know how to try (I don’t know how to try).
So I started a band just to get away, get away. Came up with a plan just to get away, get away. The longer you wait, the harder it’ll be (You’ll see).
We’re falling back to things we’ve done before. Our bad decisions only got us so far. We’re playing 15 shows in 15 nights, and I’m losing sleep all the time. Time and time again, I look to you and you look away. And if you try and run from the past, you must be moving pretty fast, because it always seems to catch me in the end. How do you feel right now? I feel alive right now.
